Therapeutic Relaxation Massage For Ladies Only

Massage feels wonderful! I really believe in human touch.  A five minute back massage can make your whole day.  Take some time out of your busy day to ease the stresses of modern living.  Give me a call to schedule your time to relax.

I attended the Minneapolis School of Massage and Bodywork, Inc. in 1997.  I hold a certificate as a Massage Practitioner.  The style  of massage that I use is derived from the "Esalen" technique.  Esalen massage is moving the muscle tissue of the body in a way that creates an appropriate level of trust between client and therapist.  Esalen massage is long, flowing, definitive strokes that connect the body together in a tension reducing, very relaxing fashion.  Esalen massage works primarily with the largest organ of the body, the skin, to accelerate waste functions.  Better circulation invites fluid movement, blood flow to inactive muscles, greater flow of lymph fluid and removal of excess wastes.  Esalen massage stimulates muscle movement which increases fluid movement, which feeds the muscles, which tones and increases flexibility of muscle tissue.

Pressure points are done on request.  I use elbow pressure directly on the point of concern for approximately 8 seconds.  Pressure is released causing circulation of new blood flow and oxygen to release toxins, tension and to help cleanse the area of need.

Relaxing the body and relieving stress should be high priority on our "list to do's".  Take time out for yourself.  You deserve it.

Massage can improve circulation, relieve aches and pains, balance energy, muscle relaxation, injury rehabilitation, and can also be administered as pure indulgence.

Where will my massage take place?

Your massage session will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room.  Soft music will be played to help you relax.  You will lie on a table especially designed for your comfort.

What parts of my body will be massaged?

You and the practitioner will discuss the desired outcome of your session.  This will determine which parts of your body require massage.  A typical full body session will include work on your back, arms, legs, feet, hands, head, neck, and shoulders.

What will the massage feel like?

It depends on the techniques used.  In a general Esalen massage, your session may start with broad, flowing strokes which will help to calm your nervous system and relax exterior muscle tension.  As your body becomes relaxed, pressure will gradually be increased to relax specific areas and relieve areas of muscular tension.

How long will the session last?

The average full body massage session lasts approximately one hour.  A half-hour appointment only allows time for a partial massage session, such as neck and shoulders, back, or legs and feet.  Many people prefer a one hour session for optimal relaxation.

What should I do during the massage session?

Make yourself comfortable.  The practitioner will either gently move you or tell you what is needed throughout the session.  Many people just close their eyes and completely relax.  Others like to talk during their massage.  Feel free to ask the practitioner questions about the massage.

What should I do after a massage session?

Always allow relaxation time prior to and after the session.  Hot tubs, steam baths, and saunas can assist in the relaxation process.  Drink plenty of water after a massage session to replenish your body fluids to help flush out toxins.

What are some of the results from a massage session?

Massage will help you be more aware of  tension in your body, improve blood circulation, feel more energetic, and lose weight easier.  Massage helps your body heal faster from injury and will help you move with greater ease and freedom.  Massage has so many wonderful benefits to help your body feel better.
